Before we draw a line, we walk the garden. The first metre tells us about thresholds, habits and the small friction points that a plan can quietly solve.
Where do you put your boots when it rains? Which window do you look through most often? Where does the evening sun land? These details are more useful than a generic wish list because they describe the life the garden needs to hold.
We also look at what is already working. A mature tree, an old wall or a good view can become the anchor for everything new. Good design is often an act of editing rather than starting over.
The first drawing is a conversation, not a verdict. We use it to test scale, movement and mood before any materials are ordered.
