The new layout keeps a generous patch of lawn for play, then wraps it in a meadow-like border that changes from spring bulbs to autumn seed heads.
Every choice was made for this particular place: the light, the view from the house, the way people move through it and the amount of care it should ask for. The finished garden is designed to settle in, not to look finished on day one.
